Ellis Air joins Building Futures as a Project Supporter

Australia

Adam Langford, Managing Director explains why they are committed to more inclusion in the workplace.

Ellis Air employs more than 700 full-time people across Australia and New Zealand. When we talk about workplace culture, we’re not talking about a policy document — we’re talking about 700 people’s daily working lives.

“Our industry, through the Building Futures project, understands how it sees itself and what changes are needed. The real test now is whether we make this industry one that women actually want to join and stay in.

“I have two young daughters. I’d like them to look at this trade one day and see a career worth having. That won’t happen on its own, which is why Ellis Air is proud to be a Founding Project Supporter of Building Futures, Breaking Barriers.”

By signing the Supporter pledge Ellis Air Conditioning has committed, along with our other Project Supporters to:

  • Support the BFBB Project goals and deliverables aimed at creating long-term cultural change across the Plumbing and Fire Protection Industry.
  • Education to strengthen our understanding of the cultural and structural drivers of inequality and inclusion.
  • Listening to the voices and experiences of everyone in the Industry, and using this insight to inform our programs, leadership, and practices.
  • Championing respectful behavior and inclusive leadership across our business and throughout the Industry.
  • Taking action to open up opportunities for everyone, particularly for women, in our Industry and actively remove barriers to their access, participation, and advancement.

The number of Founding Project Supporters continues to grow, and this shows that companies in the plumbing industry are committed to the work. They are the companies that are showing what good looks like. And this is what Building Futures, Breaking Barriers is building toward.

There is a place for everyone in this industry. Let’s build it together.
